HISTORY DELETES ITSELF is a personal project where I get to share my love of history with the world. Because I am a dork. Also, I am a historical fiction novelist. True story. Discovering is what I do, and facts are what I love.
My name is Leah Angstman, and this is my personal journey: a directory of the places I’ve been and the histories of places often overlooked. I take pictures, I learn, I study, I dig through file bins; I love the weird and undiscovered and forgotten as much as I love the gaudy tourist traps full of plastic souvenirs. But most of all, history excites me. The people and places and heroic deeds are larger than life for me, and I get lost in places in time like a sane person gets lost in an unfamiliar supermarket.
And what is birthed of my insanity is a directory of new places for you to discover. I hope that makes you as excited as it makes me.
All of the photographs you see here are mine. I normally have no problem with their use elsewhere, but please ask my permission (and know straight-up that they may not be used for any organization promoting violence, religion, homophobia, racism, pornography, child abuse, animal abuse, or hate crimes).
